This should work just like validations in workflow tasks. This would eliminate the need for external webservices for validation.

This was posted in 2016, How has it not been added yet? The store dialog auto populate should work just like in the Forms module.
Here is the update to the feature in Forms for 7.12: Filtered dropdown auto-refresh: When autofill single value is enabled and the user selects a different value from a drop-down list, the drop-down lists for the dependent fields are reloaded. This prevents errors caused by mismatched dropdown values.
