Have SmartConnect recognize apps by screen-scraping.
So many applications, especially the web-based packages that are so prevalent these days, don't change their window name as the user navigates through them. This is reducing the effectiveness of SmartConnect because it's growing more and more unable to recognize where/when to place buttons. If we could include a hot zone that it would look at, much like it does when auto-populating index fields, to help it decide when/where to show buttons that would maintain SmartConnects forward-compatibility.

At the moment we can not give you any update regarding this feature. It is on our list of planned features but at the moment we can not give a precise timeframe about the realization.

This is the reason, that we cannot use SmartConnect. Is there a solution in sight?

I completely agree, I have clients using Microsoft AX and it has become a TASK to keep smart connect working only with how the windows is named. This would be great to have.
