Option to store attached documents only (without the Web Form itself)
Feature Request: Option to store attached documents only (without the Web Form itself)
Feature / Area: DocuWare Forms & Archiving
Description:
Currently, when a user submits a Web Form with an attached file, DocuWare stores the form as the main document and attaches the uploaded file to it.
To archive only the attachment, we currently need to set up a post-processing Workflow (or manually unstaple documents in a tray), which adds unnecessary complexity for a standard use case.
Proposed Solution:
Add a toggle/checkbox in the Form Designer settings (under the Submission / Destination tab):
Option: « Store attachment(s) as standalone document(s) instead of the form »
Behavior: When enabled, the system automatically indexes and stores only the uploaded file(s) into the file cabinet, using the metadata entered in the form fields. The web form itself would be discarded upon submission.
Business Impact:
Saves storage space and avoids cluttering file cabinets with empty form covers.
Eliminates the need for workaround workflows or manual separation steps.
Streamlines document intake workflows for external/guest submissions.
