  1. Allow the ability to select mulitple pages from the viewer and e-mail them together

    If we have several pages within a document, but only 3 of the pages need to be e-mailed to someone, you have to copy the document to the basket, un staple it, select only the pages you need and then it still puts them as individual pages in the e-mail. Adding the option to select multiple pages from the viewer and send would save several steps. Right now it only gives you the option to send the entire document

  2. Implement an import jobs failure notification feature

    Sometimes import jobs fail, particularly in a server environment where there is no way of knowing that they aren't running properly without hearing from a customer or explicitly checking on the jobs. Therefore, there might be times where documents aren't being imported for a much longer time than we would otherwise know. If there was some sort of notification that can be sent to an assigned email whenever an import job fails, it'd make it much more efficient with regards to troubleshooting that issue much nearer to the initial time of failure as opposed to down the line.

  3. Split filename during import

    A very handy feature to have would be able to split a filename into different index fields during import.

    This feature already exists when reading content off a page as the "Cut out text" feature so I suggest adding when selecting the filename. I've run across import projects where there's a very structured file name (i.e. index1_index2_index3.PDF) and have the ability to split the filename into index fields would be very useful.

  5. Have SmartConnect recognize apps by screen-scraping.

    So many applications, especially the web-based packages that are so prevalent these days, don't change their window name as the user navigates through them. This is reducing the effectiveness of SmartConnect because it's growing more and more unable to recognize where/when to place buttons. If we could include a hot zone that it would look at, much like it does when auto-populating index fields, to help it decide when/where to show buttons that would maintain SmartConnects forward-compatibility.

  6. Allow Import configurations to monitor not only folders but also webbaskets

    This used to be functionality in Active Import. That allowed for building complex multi-step import configurations.

  7. Give more print setting functionality to DocuWare Printer

    DocuWare Printer prints in color by default. Many occasions a black print would be much better and also less costly in file size. Give us an option to control the color options in the default printer settings. We are having quality issues with DocuWare Printer compared to the old TiffMaker. We are also running into file size issues because documents are printing in color and they are too large to email if we want to distribute outside of DocuWare.

  8. Import jobs keep going or autorestart after failure

    Whenever an import job fails for whatever reason, that job stops importing altogether and you have to manually go in there and restart the failed job. This is not ideal as I am not always able to connect with the customer right away to restart the jobs, so there might be a time period where users are not getting any documents imported. It would be great if the import job didn't stop when it failed and maybe somehow could send an email notification to the admin but still kept going. Or autorestart after a certain period, whatever makes the most…

  9. Allow for split on bar code value change

    Need to add the functionality to split on barcode change in value just like we have on text criteria.

  10. Connect to Outlook: Process Downloaded Attachments through an Import Configuration

    Often "standardised" documents are received in an email inbox. currently there is no seamless method to run these documents through a pre-configured import configuration to identify, split and autoindex the document. Currently Emails, Attachments and/or Emails+Attachments can only be stored in a Tray or Cabinet, thus missing the processing advantage.

    Hello,
    thank you very much for your input. We are going to discuss and evaluate this idea.

    Right now – even if it is not seamless – you can already use the DocuWare Import functionality if you drag and drop Attachments/E-Mails to an Import folder or use the “Store As” function from Outlook.

  11. Add "is different from the previous page" split option for barcodes

    Under Import Config/Splitting add the "is different from the previous page" splitting option for barcodes. It is currently an option under the OCR for Character string.

  12. Automatically update the Desktop Apps

    I have many users that don't always notice when they have pending Desktop Apps updates and end up putting in support tickets for issues the update would resolve. Can you provide an option at least for the updates to install automatically?

  14. Enhance "document splitting" in DW Import to allow splitting on multiple readoutareas when 1 "OR" the other changes, not just "AND"

    I would like to be able to split a report based on multiple pieces of data, when either 1 or the other changes. For example, a document containing a batch or "purchase orders from the customer" that is sorted by "customer #" and then "customer purchase order". A customer may have sent in multiple POs in the batch. It is always possible that 2 different customers could send in the same purchase order number in the same batch.

  15. Allow to search across cabinets with Smart Connect

    At the moment smart search is restricted to search in a single cabinet. Being the cabinet you select when you configure smart search. For us it would be great to press the Docuware button and to be able to search across multiple cabinets.

    Mac OSX compatibility with Desktop Apps is ESSENTIAL. Otherwise, a web-based solution that is not OS specific would work. Our school uses 99.5% Mac OSX. The web capabilities are the only way we can make use of DocuWare. But all features are not available, specifically, Desktop Apps (scanning, printing, etc.) These are the functions that we desperately need.

  17. Add Driveletter to the DocuWare Explorer Client

    If a driveletter could be assigned the DocuWare explorer client, shortcuts could be created and it would be showed as a normal drive, it would be easier for the customers and you could use scripting to transfer files and so on. It would not differ from a normal drive.

  18. schedule import jobs

    Allow us to schedule DocuWare Import jobs. I have customers who need import across a VPN only at night. Previously they were using the scheduling features of Active Import to do this, but DW Import does not have this feature.

  19. Connect To Office App

    How about a Connect To Office App, this app would be like the old Office add in and work similar to how Connect To Outlook does.

    This could work alongside WEC rather than replace it. A lot of companies miss the old add in and the WEC although good can be a longer method of storing for the customer.

  20. Connect 2 Outlook - Ability to open search in Outlook client instead of Outlook

    When using a search in Connect 2 Outlook, the list is opened in Outlook. If many results are shown, and the customer wants a better overview it could be nice to be able to open the search directly in the DocuWare Client so you have the viewer ability and a better overview.
