Mac OSX compatibility with Desktop Apps is ESSENTIAL. Otherwise, a web-based solution that is not OS specific would work. Our school uses 99.5% Mac OSX. The web capabilities are the only way we can make use of DocuWare. But all features are not available, specifically, Desktop Apps (scanning, printing, etc.) These are the functions that we desperately need.
Thanks,
brs
Thank you for your idea.
Right now we are focusing on other topics, so we are not considering this idea for future releases. If the demand for this topic increases, we might add it to future plans.

Hi all,
For other users that need OSX compatibility :
We've been able to make Desktop Apps on Apple computers working with M1/M2 chips (it works too on Intel Chips so far with a classic Windows OS - not ARM -).
First install Parallel Desktop App (see in the AppStore) or any other emulation program, and install a Windows ARM OS version (Windows 11 ARM for example : it can be purchased on microsoft's store on the web). Then you can force the manual installation of Docuware's Desktop Apps by following these steps :
1. Open the Windows Files Explorer
2. Navigate to : C:\Program Files (x86)\DocuWare\Client Setup\
3. Make a right-click on the Client Setup Directory and choose "Open in Terminal"The Windows' Terminal launches and you should be here :
PS C:\Program Files (x86)\DocuWare\Client Setup>4. Type (or Paste) this Windows' terminal command :
.\DocuWare.Setup.Client.Cmd.exe install --auto --server=https://[your organization docuware's url]/ --orgId=[your org ID]
(replace datas between brackets with yours)It will install all the Docuware Desktop Apps on your Windows' OS emulated (including Workflow Designer...)
At the Windows's OS launch, an error appears about the Windows Client Server, but you can close it : we've seen no problem at all when using any of the Desktop App installed so far with this method.
Hoping it will help anyone who's waiting for Docuware's compatibility with Apple's computers.
PS C:\Program Files (x86)\DocuWare\Client Setup>4. Saisir (ou copier/coller) la commande suivante :
.\DocuWare.Setup.Client.Cmd.exe install --auto --server=https://[your organization docuware's url]/ --orgId=[your org ID]

I'm not really a developer, but I know there are many solutions for cross platform Development, so working out the details, and making Desktop Apps in a cross platform IDE would allow for support on Windows/MAC/Linux and other future Posix based OSes. Should really become a priority. The existing user base would expand a great deal.

Hi,
Mac OS compatibility is a critical feature for us too (french non-profit organization for 200 handicapped persons, multiples services, and governmental financial dialog). We just came into DocuWare andwe are really disappointed/angry to see that this so called "cloud/web based" solution is in fact so downgraded without the ability to install Desktop Apps.
Please do something asap for this, which would be a great gesture toward Apple community and potentially new business' customers.

I think if a solution is based in a web platform, and it has some desktop components and connectors, they should be multiplatform since the purpose of a web platform is justly works independent of the OS.

Well, demand has DEFINITELY increased. HudsonAlpha, if it plans to go this route, is 99.5% MAC OSX so the purchase of a Windows System to make this work for the apps is not going to happen. Need this to be set up pronto dente. Otherwise, we will look to other vendors to suit our needs.

its unbelievable that Docuware does not have a Mac OSX Version ....
Somebody in the management should wake up... can't be that difficult to write a Mac OS X Version of the client. Its been in discussion since 2015 still no progress there must be a great OS X hater in the management hindering the development. -

Hi,
Is DocuWare Desktop App for mac already in the product roadmap?
You guys could use ElectronJs to rebuild the Docuware Desktop App, So you guys would have only one codebase for that. Thanks

Hello, i have a customer that made me this request and i naturally assumed it would work with MAC. It's with surprise that i discover it does not. In 2020, this is not acceptable. Please find way to include this on the next release. Kind regards

It is crazy that you do not have integration with MAC system

Why is there no MacOSX Desktop Software integration? This very much needed as our executive management team is switching over to MacBooks and without Docuware integrations we will have to evaluate other DMS options.

Mac OS destop Software integration is needed. We are having more and more Apple MacbookPro Users and not having Docuware integration with Mac OS is making us reconsider the choice of DMS for our company and operations

Hoping to see this feature added...and cross posting my comment from another similar topic. I'm surprised this topic doesn't have more interest. Docuware Desktop Integration, including integration with Outlook would be a great improvement. You've got the academic sector, but now more recently, BYOD is becoming so popular and everyone wants to bring their Mac, but no one wants to run a VM just so they can have their Docuware desktop integration functioning. We consider Docuware to be a visionary in the software world. Surprised they aren't even considering Mac support for desktop apps...
