  1. Import Filter by file name

    Filter file names from import folder. For example i want to exclude file names that contain "TMP".

  2. Create info logs

    We can see the import configuration, but we don't know who is using it or where. It would be great to have a running log file that contained details like:
    8/8/2017 - user TGROESCHL enabled "To Doc Tray" import configuration on PC2
    8/9/2017 - user TWEEMS enabled "To File Cabinet" import configuration on PC13

    That would tell me what the pc/server name is and also which user the desktop apps are connected as.
    Could even take it a step further by recording job details, like "8 page document successfully submitted 8/9/2017 14:36:05" or "5 page document failed to submit 8/9/2017…

  3. connect to outlook

    In Connect to Outlook, when using the "Send and Store" button, the user should be prompted to choose a cabinet. I know you can click near the arrow on the send and store button to get a list of cabinets, but users are just clicking the button and then a storage dialog pops up, but they have no idea which dialog it is or where they are storing to. Would be nice if when you click Send and Store, you get a choice of storage dialogs no matter where you click on the button.

  4. Add Scan/Upload Management Capability Into Docuware Desktop Apps Scan Feature

    SYMPTOM: When the user scans and clicks the upload button the program shows a message "Your document is being created and uploaded" For no apparent reason this process hangs, and, if left alone will run indefinitely.

    PROBLEM: The symptom above effectively cripples any further SCAN & UPLOAD processing on the computer until a manual intervention is performed.

    SOLUTION: When this happens, and it has happened to a number of different customers over the course of the last three months,and longer, we have taken the steps outlined here:

  5. DW Import allows for splitting by criteria when using identification

    To process batch scanning, it would be very helpful to have splitting by criteria option when having import identify PDF's that are coming in.

  6. Expand functionality in Import module

    Please take the current (vs.6.7) "Cut Out Text" and "Replace Text" functionalities that are in zone and barcode reads and add them to "Dynamic" entries.

    When importing documents from competitors systems such as ECopy, the file name often includes the indices separated by underscores (_). The "Dynamic Entry" option set to "File Name" combined with "Cut Out Text" function would allow these file names to be parsed correctly into the multiple DocuWare index fields.

  7. Make the Import jobs collapsible to make a list.

    When there are many import jobs setup, it would be nice if they showed more as a list that can then be expanded (the item selected) to see the details instead of having all the details available at first glance. A long list means a lot longer to scroll to get to where you want.

  8. More search options with Connect to Outlook

    We would like to see more search options in Connect to Outlook. Currently I have to tie the search to either a fixed value or a field in the email. We should be able to create a search dialog or use an existing search dialog to search Docuware right from Outlook so the user can search in Outlook, the same way they search in DW.

  9. Connect to Outlook Watched Folders should have an option to keep the email in the watched folder

    Right now watched folders in Outlook automatically deletes the emails that are put in that folder with out an option to change. In DocuWare 5 deleting the original was always an option. Would like to see that option returned. -- Plus, it makes more sense to have this option available for both watched folders and regular connect to outlook configurations anyway.

  11. Connect to Mail - add the ability to autorotate attachments just like with DWImport

    I have a client that has incoming emails with documents attached that were scanned sideways. It would be very helpful if we could import these documents with Connect to Mail and Autorotate them on the way in to the file cabinet.

  12. Warning before deleting production workflow, or recycle bin for deleted Workflows

    Hello all. It would be very helpful if there was a recycle bin for deleted workflows.

    Currently it's a little too easy to accidently delete a workflow. When managing workflow versions in the "versions" tab, it turns out that if a user deletes an old version (e.g. version 9 of 12) the workflow designer actually deletes everything, not just version 9 of the workflow, but also production and other old versions.

    Currently there is no clear warning. Just a popup that mentions that a "published version" exists, which could be interpreted as there were multiple published versions of the…

  14. Make Connect to Outlook compatible with Office 2024

    I was told to post this here regarding making Connect to Outlook compatible with Office 2024. I feel like this should go for any items that use Office. Perhaps with each new release of DocuWare we should make sure it is compatible with the most current version of Office or at least have it on the schedule to be worked.

  15. I suggest a "reconnect" switch to control that a connection is automatically re-established if it is interrupted

    It would be desirable if there was a "reconnect" switch in a future version, which could be used to control that a connection is automatically re-established if it is interrupted - for whatever reason - the Internet line can sometimes fail became. Ideally with a controllable period of time, e.g. to carry out a connection check every 30 or 60 minutes and to restore the standard connection if a connection failure is detected.

  16. Add the ability to choose which attachments are stored per email when using Connect to Outlook

    We would like the ability to choose which attachments are stored when using the email storing feature in Outlook (Connect to Outlook). Often times emails have multiple attachments and we are storing unnecessary items. We have to remove the unnecessary items manually. Presenting us with a box that lists the attachments where we can select each individual item or multiple items to attach would be ideal.

  17. Make the edit app more robust in detecting changes in files

    Currently, the edit app only detects changes to the file if it's locked, but some older applications do not keep the file locked after loading it, and only save back over the file after changes have been made. This doesn't seem necessary, since it's also looking for when the modification date changes for the file. An option to make the requirements less strict would allow the edit app to be compatible with a larger range of applications.

  18. Change where the SID is stored for Desktop Apps when using the Cloud version

    Would it be possible to change the “secure” user folder area that contains the SID folders from %programdata%\Docuware\Desktop\Secure and move that into a user area maybe under %appdata%\Roaming? The reason to do this is because the user data ends up being placed outside of areas that can be virtualized, leading to the docuware software not retaining the connection when utilizing fresh desktops.

  19. Incompatibility with citrix multiple vda

    In our company we have implemented Citrix for desktops with multiple servers that are responsible for offering sessions to users in a balanced way. The problem comes from saving the user data in %programdata% and not in the user profile. When the user logs in to another machine or it is regerated, we have to reconnect the desktop apps and configure the folder imports. It is impossible to work this way. The "easy" solution would be to bring the user information to your profile.

  20. edit&send : upload files when they are closed

    If you open multiple Excel files (stored in a file cabinet) through the edit option in the viewer they are updated in DocuWare only when you close excel app but not when you close the file. We often lose data. It would also be interresting to upload the files not only when we close the app but also when we save changes just like when the file is in the document tray.
