Avoid opening the browser to sign-in purposes (since 7.10)
Since we are DocuWare integrators, we change our Desktop Apps connection all the time.
Since 7.10, we have been forced to open a browser just to open the WorkFlow designer.
Personally, I don't use my default browser to connect to the client's cloud (I assume I'm not alone in this situation), which means every time Desktop Apps wants to connect, it opens a tab on my default browser and forces me to retype the user/password.
It is time-consuming, and it gives us difficulties in some external communication with other services like SMSMod (untimely opening connection tabs).I know security concerns…

Make Connect to Outlook compatible with Office 2024
I was told to post this here regarding making Connect to Outlook compatible with Office 2024. I feel like this should go for any items that use Office. Perhaps with each new release of DocuWare we should make sure it is compatible with the most current version of Office or at least have it on the schedule to be worked.

I suggest a "reconnect" switch to control that a connection is automatically re-established if it is interrupted
It would be desirable if there was a "reconnect" switch in a future version, which could be used to control that a connection is automatically re-established if it is interrupted - for whatever reason - the Internet line can sometimes fail became. Ideally with a controllable period of time, e.g. to carry out a connection check every 30 or 60 minutes and to restore the standard connection if a connection failure is detected.

Allow a workflow to work with multiple merge forms.
I have forms that complete multiple merge forms. Several of these forms have a name and I use a workflow to combine the first and last name to put the full name on the form. It would be nice if I could do this with 1 workflow rather than a separate workflow for each merge form.

Add the ability to choose which attachments are stored per email when using Connect to Outlook
We would like the ability to choose which attachments are stored when using the email storing feature in Outlook (Connect to Outlook). Often times emails have multiple attachments and we are storing unnecessary items. We have to remove the unnecessary items manually. Presenting us with a box that lists the attachments where we can select each individual item or multiple items to attach would be ideal.

add columns to workflow designer.
When workflow designer opens there is a tab for overview. That tab has a page with columns consisting of File cabinet, Name, Creation date, Versions, Active instances, and Published. Adding columns for applies to form and merge form would be very helpful. I have an enrollment form that completes 14 merge forms. I recently updated it to use table fields and use my workflow to fill in tables that used to be completed by individual fields in the form. A quick look to see workflows associated with that form would have been very helpful to see what needed updating. I…

The "Force SSO" options should actually force SSO
When you setup a user to the option "force SSO" then it should automatically use SSO and not just "force" them to click on "use microsoft" .. if the option is force then it should automatically try to use SSO first..

User Sync functionality in DocuWare Cloud
As of now, the User Sync Tool necessitates installation on a server, especially when integrating DocuWare with Azure AD. To enhance flexibility and simplify the process, I suggest implementing a feature that allows User Sync to operate directly from the DocuWare Cloud platform, eliminating the requirement for a separate server installation.
This enhancement could significantly improve the user experience and streamline the implementation process for DocuWare Cloud users.

Have a Basic Training setting up the software and how to scan. Short cut manual that one can down load and also have a you tube video as well.

Make the edit app more robust in detecting changes in files
Currently, the edit app only detects changes to the file if it's locked, but some older applications do not keep the file locked after loading it, and only save back over the file after changes have been made. This doesn't seem necessary, since it's also looking for when the modification date changes for the file. An option to make the requirements less strict would allow the edit app to be compatible with a larger range of applications.

Store Gmail Directly to Docuware
Storing information from Outlook is easy with Desktop Apps. We need something just as easy for Gmail. Many K-12 and other business are making the switch to Gmail and Chrome books, sometimes MAC OS. We need an easier way to store documents. At the moment the cloud is a big movement, and customers don't want to use local storage, or print documents and then scan them in just to store to Docuware. Please consider providing easy storage from Gmail to Docuware. (explored IMAP, but for security reasons customers are turning this feature off) Thank-you!

Allow Connect to Outlook to use Document Processing on Email Body, not just attachments.
Currently you can only use a Document Processing configuration to capture OCR indexing zones and anchors on attachments. If the email is converted to a PDF when stored, we should be able to capture values from the email body as well.

Connect to Outlook - add Explorer Client Frame to Drag-n-drop emails/attachments to store documents
Add a Explorer Client frame in outlook, where you can navigate to your particular file cabinet with defined structure, allowing you to drag-n-drop an email and/or attachment directly onto it - with a store dialog being presented for indexing.

Notes for Workflow changes
Each time you (save and) publish a workflow you should be able to enter what has changed in a textfield. If multiple people give support for a client and they have to check the workflow designer to see what has changed, it'd be nice to know what happened in each version instead of manually checking the current and previous version.
If the 'shape' of the workflow is the same but the contents of some activities have changed, you have to check all activities of both versions one by one to find the difference.

allow a data assignment to a table field in a workflow
I have a table field that has therapy evaluations and dates that need to be filled in by individual therapists. Unfortunately, I can not make the field required because then the first therapist would have to enter the dates for all the other evaluations that may not have been done yet by other therapists. So then I have therapists that just hit confirm on the workflow and the date is never entered. I would like to be able to automatically enter the current date if that field is blank but in the assign data to indexes table fields are not…

Instant execution of a scheduled workflow
A possibility to execute a scheduled workflow instantly. This could be an option in the Workflow Designer. It is not very optimal when you have to reschedule a workflow again and again when testing the workflow functionality. Apart from testing, the instant execution button would be beneficial in many other cases as well.

Change where the SID is stored for Desktop Apps when using the Cloud version
Would it be possible to change the “secure” user folder area that contains the SID folders from %programdata%\Docuware\Desktop\Secure and move that into a user area maybe under %appdata%\Roaming? The reason to do this is because the user data ends up being placed outside of areas that can be virtualized, leading to the docuware software not retaining the connection when utilizing fresh desktops.

reassign workflow
Being able to change/save the default settings in the Reassign Workflow window would be beneficial. Every time we reassign a task, the email reminder needs to be unchecked. We would like to be able to adjust/save the default settings for this window in the user preferences.

Incompatibility with citrix multiple vda
In our company we have implemented Citrix for desktops with multiple servers that are responsible for offering sessions to users in a balanced way. The problem comes from saving the user data in %programdata% and not in the user profile. When the user logs in to another machine or it is regerated, we have to reconnect the desktop apps and configure the folder imports. It is impossible to work this way. The "easy" solution would be to bring the user information to your profile.

Add ability to import the contents of .ZIP files.
If you receive an email that is automatically set to import attached pdfs, it would be helpful to import the contents within a ZIP file, if they are pdfs. Client receives invoices from vendor in ZIP format as they receive a lot of invoices at the same time.
