Allow the ability to Staple as well as Clip from the basket to an already stored document
It would be nice if we had the ability to choose between staple and clip when adding a document from the basket to an already stored document. This way we could keep it as one large file instead of creating new files if it's not necessary. It would also save steps from having to copy it to the basket and then stapling them to keep it as one file.

This is already possible since version 6.5 through the split view when dragging and dropping a document from the basket in one area onto a document in a result list in the 2nd area.

In my case, we are building billing packets that need to be sent to the customer. We would like to send those out as single file PDF in most cases instead of a zip file that a clipped document would generate. We found that if you staple an unindexed document to the front of an indexed document in the tray then you would lose your indexes but stapling in split screen like you can with clipping would be a good way to do it.

Most of our documents are PDF and we just want pages added to the back of the PDF. Time is money. Our staff scroll through the documents, and they miss the fact there is another file attached so they think there are missing pages in the document. It takes extra time to move the mouse to the other navigation button to see the next file. Clipping causes so many issues of people not finding everything in a document, that it is highly discouraged here. It would banned if we knew how to turn off the option. To staple, they have to copy out to a basket, staple, then refile, then mark the original as old. Again, lots more time taken up.

Thanks a lot for your comment. May I ask in which case you would want to rather staple a document to an already stored document and not clip them together loosely and why?

The only option it gives you is to "clip" which creates a second file. I don't always want to create a second file so I have to copy it to the basket, staple them together, and then restore them. If you gave the option to Staple as well as clip from the basket to something already in the results list it wouldn't create a second file.
