  1. Single Sign-on is great however it automatically add all users from AD into Docuware and assigns them a license automatically.

    Single Sign-on is great however it automatically add all users from AD into Docuware and assigns them a license automatically.

    This process negates the AD user management feature, if they still need to assign licenses manually. Additionally I noticed that ALL AD Groups could be added to Docuware automatically, typically only a subset of AD groups are used in Docuware.

  3. Administrator: Performance Indicators

    It would be nice to have a dashboard in the admin tool with key performance indicators, such as Documents stored for the day, Maximum concurrent users, Number of registered users, # inactive users that didnt use Docuware in 3 months), current logged in users, data in for day (vs historical average), data out for day (vs historical average), Available storage (with estimated time before storage is full), Available resources, Critical errors (servers, workflows, etc.)

  4. allow configuration of teams and team leads for easy approval workflows.

    For Docuware to know who the manager of anyone else is, would be more efficient for approvals, example travel requisitions or leave approvals.

  5. Allow selection of location to write temp files for Request container

    When creating Request containers, the files are written to the default temp directory for DocuWare. If the Request cabinet is very large, the C:\ drive can fill up and crash. Need to be able to select an alternate location to write the temp files.

  6. Have server name in admin tool for non admin users.

    For users that don't have access to the system configurations, there is no way to know what server you are connected to once in the admin tool. Client has a test system and production. Yes, they have to type the server name in to connect but they want something, either top bar or bottom bar, to state which server they are connected to. That way if they get distracted, they don't have to log out and then log back in to figure out which one they are connected to.

  7. Change default paper size/region

    We are North American clients, and we really need a setting to change the default paper size to Letter(in Connect to Mail, Printer, etc...). A region setting that would automatically setup Printers and Connect to Mail to the default paper size of the region would be amazing.

    Otherwise, all connect to mail emails are saved as A4 size, which messes with older printers, and also makes emails print out oddly on paper. The Docuware Printer also doesn't have a UI option to change the setting. It has a registry change, but a server side auto-deployed setting would make much more…

  8. Simple Start up Template

    Going in to using Docuware with zero experience, I would suggest give new clients a simple start up template to fill out. They could list Main File Cabinets needed (in outline format) and with those (also in outline format) the index headings they would like. Having filled those out would give a clear view of HOW the system would be set up, and prior to actual set up of the Stores, changes could be made.   9. Make DocuWare variables available in text area of stamp

    Please allow the stamp text area to use DocuWare variables like user name and data/time variables.

    Currently the user and date/time can be added as default stamp text but it's in a hard coded order.

    Being able to change that order and potentially mix it with additional info would be helpful.

    So instead of the standard stamp of this

    Username
    Date time

    I'd like to be able to configure it to this:

    Date time Username

    Or this:

    CSR Username Date time

    Essentially adding variables to the text area opens up a lot of additional options when designing stamps!

  10. Increase Logging Table Column width from 500 characters to Max

    We recently came across a customer that is using a rather large number of index fields due to their process and using Task Manager that we needed to run an Audit on a document to show what had happened. Most of the information was not displayed in the audit because there is a limit of 500 characters in the column width in the table created by DW when creating a logging agent. I would like to request that this be changed to MAX and not 500 as we then lose the ability to truly capture audit data on documents.

  11. Allow edits to the web page

    Currently on the v 6.7 web page there are three options for login, Docuware Account, Active Directory and guest. We only have a single organization so we do not use that filed and the user leaves it blank. The Windows Account page will not be used from the outside. The Guest account is disabled, as we only use the Docuware account option. I would recommend the following options be enabled:
    1. If there is a single organization and that field will not be used, allow it to be disabled to avoid confusion on behalf of the end users.

  12. Include FullText field in General Search Dialog(Docuware Administration)

    In some scenarios it'd be very useful to be able to include FullText criteria in File Cabinet documents filter for let's say a deletion workflow.

  13. optional fields for groups or user defined tables

    For index filters in profiles we often use a database view on the DocuWare Users and grups ("dwGroups, dwUsers, dwUserToGroup").
    This helps to make a SQL index filter with the user-group settings.
    Often the group name itself is implemented in the index filter. For example the users in the DW group with the name "grp_Accounting" are just allowed to see documents of the business unit "Accounting".
    SQL index filter: CURRENTUSERLONGNAME() IN (SELECT v.User FROM View V Where (dwdata.dbo.archiv.)BusinessUnit = LEFT(3,v.groupName)

    If there would be a possibility to give groups optional fields we could take this information…

  14. Sort order in external select lists

    In the data connector or external list configuration allow the ability to set the sort order by one or more fields in the data connection. Allow workflow designer or sys admin to define or modify the SQL query used to pull the data for the external select list to use WHERE and ORDER BY clauses.

  15. Bring back multiple Web Connections/URLs (removed in 7.4)

    In 7.4, the ability to use different URLs was removed.
    It is not possible to use http://hostname/docuware and http://hostname.my.domain/docuware at the same time.

    This especially has a huge impact to customers who have their DocuWare reachable from outside their own network, as the server often has a different DNS Name and URL for external connections. 7.4 basically removed the ability to have your DW Server available for external connections.

    Please bring back the ability to have multiple Web Connections or to allow traffic from every IIS Site binding.

  16. Disable auto assignment of licenses in cloud.

    If a License is held open a new AD user will auto-populate. This is a flaw and security issue. At the least it should be able to be disabled.

  17. Add a feature to automatically update the xml files in file cabinet to match database changes

    It would be very helpful if .xml files were kept in sync with the DocuWare index database automatically.

    As it stands now, if there is database corruption that exists beyond the timeframe of database backups, any index edits can be lost.

    This feature would also help future upgrades and data moves from having corrupt or missing index data. We recently discovered a file cabinet with database and xml issues. It was caused by some improper handling of past upgrades. The issues could have been minimized by syncing the xml files with the database.

  19. Allow shared mailboxes in connect to mail

    I've been informed that shared mailboxes do not work with Connect to Mail.
    However with the move to Exchange Online, and it being licensed per user, we have to use shared mailboxes not user accounts with a mailbox attached.
    Being able to use shared mailboxes would reduce cost and user management complexity.

    Hello,

    Our organization uses google analytics for reporting on all our websites and applications. We would like to incorporate DocuWare into this reporting. Is this available already or planned?
