I just have to rebuild the entire workflow, It'd be great if I could just export it.

Absolutely! I just have to completely rebuild a workflow for the umpteenth time, which I could actually have copied 1: 1 from another archive. I absolutely agree with @Norman Hanke

I also think this is a "must have" feature.
In a situation of an Process Engineer, working with a lot of tools with Workflow Configuation possiblities, this is a critical function to ensure Process Quality.
Normally you have a Test System to configure a Workflow, a Automated Test System to continue testing your workflows with data and workflow changes.
If you now have no possibillity to import and export a workflow it will be a nighmare the keep all system update and orginze process releases.

It is very painful when you have big workflows in test and then you have to recreate them in the production environment.
Really need a tool or process to be able to import and export them.

Even to be able to select multiple elements in a workflow (activities, variables, "Start" settings) and paste them into another workflow would be amazing.
Already, you can have two instances of Workflow Designer open, each launched with a different "desktop apps connection" enabled. And you can copy / paste individual activities from one to another.
*** And if you paste instead into a text editor, you will get XML.
*** But you cannot paste the XML into a workflow (after copying as text, from editor). -

Same opinion that Craig Williams

working in a live environment is already tough trying to not effect a clients system...working in a test environment would be great, exporting the settings from one environment to another....
also
it is very short sighted to think that the workflow can never be duplicated because it is forever attached to the guid on the file cabinet. this means I can never copy it move it -
This really needs to be updated....I am shocked that there is no way to import/export workflows out of the designer. Disappointing
