in your next upgrade it'd be great to be able to do a text search that would encompass all the file cabinets in one global search

Thank you for your idea. We added it to our collection of ideas and features and will further investigate it. We currently cannot say exactly when this idea will be implemented. As soon as we have more information we will update its status.

You can execute a fulltext search. Then DocuWare searches in all index fields and all documents of the selected file cabinets for the search item(s).

This is here now in 6.7, which is great, but it only works for identically-named fields in the selected cabinets. As an expansion of this feature it'd be great to have a single google-like search that will crawl ALL the index fields for selected cabinets. This is what users are asking for and, having been able to do it in Google and other ECM solutions, they expect it in DocuWare.
