YES! People rarely actually want the auto-select in my experience. Much more common for them to wish that it didn't work that way.
Showing up in the history is not sufficient, I can promise you. I can have a few similar Autoindex routines and I'll tell you with no hesitation that even with the history I'm often left wondering which one of them fired off. This feature request really should get another look (thought about logging it myself and was surprised to see it), and I wanted to log the request even though I use the History every time.
