  1. Multi-factor login authentication as a security option

    It would be nice to be able to have a multi-factor login authentication as a security option. We have users who work in DocuWare while they are on the road and it would be nice to toggle this feature on/off per user as an extra layer of security.

    Of course the security of our users is important to us.
    As you have noticed, this idea still has the same status, but was not declined. That means we evaluate it regularly.

    One reason why we have decided not to add this security feature yet is that we will first change the authentication flow.
    As a first step, we introduced the Identity Service in the DocuWare Cloud with Version 7.3, which allows integration with Azure AD and the use of MFA there.
    The next step is to force users to use SSO only. However, to ensure this, we still need to make some changes in our authentication flow.
    We are also planning to bring these functions to DocuWare On-Premises.
    Afterwards we will evaluate extending the login with DocuWare credentials with MFA/2FA.

    We are constantly striving to improve our products and appreciate your feedback and contribution.

  2. When sorting a list with the "Sort by" button, the "reset sorting" option may not be accessible.

    In presence of a long sort field list, as such list is not scrollable, the "reset sorting" option, figuring at the bottom of the list, may not be accessible.

  3. Have Desktop client check status occasionally of Desktop service and auto-restart it if stopped.

    I frequently get tickets from users getting "DocuWare Desktop Service is unavailable". This is almost always caused by the service being stopped for some reason and the user doesn't know how to restart it. Since the Desktop client can't do anything without the service running, it should automatically make sure the service is running every once in awhile.

  4. Possibility to open the full DocuWare Webclient from a resultlist

    When a ResultList is open, the ability to transfer the resultlist to a full webclient would be good. Many users are missing the viewer and also the inconvenience of closing the result list window and opening a new DocuWare webclient.

  5. search folders

    Folders is a great concept, but when you have a lot of folders it does not work. If you could conduct a search of the folders then get a list of the folders that contain that search - that would be really nice.

  6. Edit several index fields when selecting a group of documents

    When you select a group of documents to edit an index field, it could be usefull the posibility to modify more tan one field. Right now, there is only the posibility to modify one index field at once.

  7. Docuware Trays Dropdown needs to show number of files in tray

    It would be nice to have the number of files in each tray display on the drop down. This way I don't have to open the tray to see if anything needs to be processed. Please see attachment for example.

  8. Vote system for intelligent indexing

    A nice feature would be the ability to Vote Thumbs Up or Down on a Repeat Intelligent Indexing result.

    As I understand it, currently there is no way to reset or change intelligent indexing results on the cloud. This would be a good way to provide instant feed back and possibly reset field values to original results and try a different template on the next run?

  9. Allow entering a description when scanning batches of documents to a tray

    Users are accustomed to entering a description when scanning multiple documents to a tray and this later helps them select them for indexing. This description may be a batch number, a date, a location from where the documents were received, the operator's name or any text at all that helps organize the documents. The current functionality only allows editing the document name after it is already in the tray and only one document at a time.

  10. Field setting changes on all result views

    If we have 15 result views and if we need to change the select list of an specific field, we need to manually change each single result view. We suggest to have a method to adjust all the fields at the same time. The tool might show a pop up to select the result views we want to change.

  11. Create barcode in forms merge

    It would be helpful to be able to generate a 2D barcode which combines multiple index values while generating a PDF form from a web form. This way you could embed all the index values into a single barcode for simple index capture if the form needs to be printed and re-scanned.

  12. Add ability to save your desktop setup as Workspace's

    Concerning the general layout of the two possible desktop areas (where you choose two panes or one) of DW.

    We all use trays, searches, lists and task in certain layouts but it tends to get busy especially as a system admin or someone with access to multiple Filing Cabinets.

    It would be nice to save a layout and name it. I like to have both areas set up on different Trays so I can drag and drop items back and forth to hit certain Intelligent Indexing/Storage configs. Then I have another view that shows a list of recently stored documents…

  13. add Notes pane to workflow task view

    The only way users currently have of adding comments to a document as it goes through a workflow is to use the "edit text annotation" function, which is not very visible and can easily be missed. A good idea may be to add a Notes pane to the task area in the bottom-left. In the same way that the users can flip between the various decisions they have as part of the task by clicking the decision buttons on the left side, a couple of buttons can be put on the top: one saying "Task" and the other saying "Notes".…

  14. Due Date from Start

    It would be nice to be able to configure a Due Date from when the workflow Starts. The problem is that every time a new TASK begins the due date has to start over. I have had several clients who have lets say a total of 25 days to complete a workflow.

  15. Add additional page for stamps

    Reviewing the invoices can be difficult as there is not enough room for the stamps, so the stamp and the underlying text becomes illegible. Another seperate sheet solely for stamps might be an idea.

  16. FC Folders: Indicate which fields require a select list and which are free form

    When creating a folder view for a File Cabinet, there no indication which text fields are pulled from a closed select list and which accept any text input. This is annoying when you then try to create a new folder, only to find out when storing a file that the folder name does not match the select list.

  18. Change the default file cabinets when searching multiple file cabinets

    Our client would like the ability to change the default file cabinets that are selected when performing a search across multiple file cabinets. Whenever you do a multi-file cabinet search, the same file cabinets are always selected. In an instance that you say want to select the same 4 file cabinets every time, you would have to add the same 2 file cabinets every time and couldn't change it to default to 4 file cabinets. This has been tested by DW support and confirmed not to be a function of DocuWare currently.

  19. In versions 5 when it was digitized with electronic certificate a symbol was shown in the display.

    In versions 5 when it was digitized with electronic certificate a symbol was shown in the display. Currently no longer displayed.
    The client can not distinguish documents with certificates from those that do not.

  20. show number of full text results within a document

    Hi, When using full text search for key word(s), it would be really useful to know how many results with the document there are. We can see the number of documents it exists in but not the number of times within that document
