Bring back the Session Time Out Feature to DocuWare Webclient - Serious Security Issue
This is a serious security issue and almost all of our clients are complaining about not being able to automatically sign out of the system!
Thank you for your contribution. Your idea is available with version 7.5.

Yes, please implement this feature. The session cookie is already there in the web.config files! This is a very standard security feature and it is much requested.

Here is another vote for this feature!

We are nearing another anniversary with this still open. Any update?

One more time. This must be addressed asap. The Configurations screen times out. Why not the Web client?

Any updates on this topic. When is this on the roadmap?

Very serious issue here.
has directly cost us business not having this feature in the system.
DocuWare please fix this. -

A timeout for the web client is a reasonable and standard security measure. It is just as important for businesses as it is for anyone with their personal banking site left open. Customers really do want the session to expire. This is an unmet requirement in RFPs.
I'm sure DocuWare sells quite a few additional licenses just to compensate for browser tabs left open. How many missed business opportunities is this worth? Because, in the end, it's money that talks.

In addition to the security implications, with named licenses, not logging out inactive users causes problems because if a user leaves a session open and moves to another workstation or goes home he/she will be unable to connect. Also, if I am not mistaken , the Configuration menu DOES close out inactive sessions.

Calling this an "idea" that will be added to your collection of ideas is sort of an unacceptable response. You sell concurrent licenses - This is a requirement. It was available in 6.5 to 6.11 and this change was not properly highlighted in the 6.12 changes. I did not see it in any documentation. If it were, we would not have upgraded. Please escalate this issue with the urgency it requires. Thank you.

Over 200 votes now -- do the users actually have a voice, or don't they? We'll be staying on 6.11 until I know we can make sure this issue is no longer an issue. Even with named licenses there are still the security implications to consider.

If a user has been inactive in Docuware for 15 minutes (or whatever amount of desired timeframe), they should be automatically timed out of their license.

The more I learn about DocuWare, the less impressed I become. Session timeouts are a recognized standard security feature for virtually every web-based enterprise solution on the market. Can't help but think that DocuWare was incapable of figuring out how to make it work correctly, so rather than put in the effort to fix it, they just stripped it out of their product.

Last date when DocuWare provided a status update on this feature request was December 28, 2016.
I wonder if there is a method of escalation of this issue. -

Current implementation, the customer expressed dissatisfaction of the ability for the administrator to logout a user. The fact that IF the user correctly logs out, the account is still locked out from another computer for 3 minutes is rather painful for this customer. They use a shared desktop PC, so they move from their own PC to the scanning one. Maybe not the most efficient configuration, but that is what they are experiencing.
