  1. Better usage of the open Microsoft Office format

    The new Microsoft Office formats are open and formatted with XML. It would be nice to use this better, for example with comparison of two documents (Regarding versioning) or for automatic indexing for known documents. The index values could be read directly in the XML data. Most documents are created with the Microsoft Office package.

  2. Start applying the Amharic Language in our Docuware OCR Engine

    We are currently applying on a big Ethiopian Tender. If we win it then we will be the first DMS suplier in that country and will be opening a gateway to a big potential market in Africa. The Amheric language is required in our OCR engine to win that bid.

  3. Restore function "Open in plugin"

    If you need to edit stored documents from Web Client using a different software instead the default software associated to the documents file extension.

  4. Limit list of stamp with values of a fields

    When you have many stamp it is difficult for the user to know which to choose. The list should be limited according to, for example, the type of document or its state etc.

  6. Intellignet index recognize negative numbers with parenthesis

    I would like to suggest that Intelligent Indexing and point and click indexing recognize number with in parenthesis as negative numbers.

  8. Trays icons on the desktop showing nb of documents in it (like trashbin empty/full)

    As explained in the title, and as shown on the screenshots ; easy to see if you have documents and how many in each of the document trays you have access to. Really cool feature for an improved user experience. (no need to go in DW or to receive a notification)

  9. Make the zoom level of the Document Overview persistent.

    Is there a way to make the zoom level of the Document Overview persist whenever it is summoned anew? If not, can we get that feature added? I don't know why anyone would ever NOT want the Document Overview to remember the size of the thumbnails that has been previously selected...

  10. Ability to download a document in Excel format

    We have reports that are getting imported into DocuWare as a DOCX file. A nice feature to the download section would be to convert the report to an Excel (xlsx) format. The accounting side of the business could then filter and work with the information better.

  11. Split the print and save security

    Split the security for printing and saving within the exporting control. Our company must print the latest technical documentation to deliver with the final product but would like to block the ability for employees to save the content to their local drives.

    Thank you for your idea.
    Right now we are focusing on other topics, so we are not considering this idea for future releases. If the demand for this topic increases, we might add it to future plans.
    Printing is always done by converting the document to PDF, and opening in a PDF viewer for printing. Technically the user has now the PDF file and can save it by himself. Right splitting would result in no difference.

  13. Modify the Query Definition screen

    Modify the Query Definition screen so the user can create a working query using the Graphical Editor mode, then switch to the SQL Statement mode and see how DocuWare queries are properly structured. This would allow for a much better understanding of how to write the queries in DocuWare using the SQL Statement editor.

  15. Add fields when there is a version change

    It would be interesting that at the time to unlock a document with activated version control, we can see the fields of the file cabinet to modify it.
    Now only are the fields main version, secondary version and comments.
    I propose to be able to add more fields in this section, fields of the file cabinet

  17. Make the highlighter tool like the one in Word or Google Docs.

    The current highlighter tool covers up the word it is highlighting to much. Also it should not be a freestyle highlighter, but used like that in Word or Google Docs.

  18. I suggest that you allow rearranging index fields on the "edit index field" screen.

    Currently, the list of index fields shown on the "edit index field" screen are in order of when they were created. It would be great to allow rearranging of the list so they are in a more user friendly order, and not just "this is how I added them into Docuware" order.
